Service Description
This 1.5-hour training provides Substance Use Disorder (SUD) counselors with essential knowledge and practical skills related to opioid use, overdose risk, and prevention strategies. Participants will explore the pharmacology of opioids, including commonly misused substances such as Fentanyl and heroin, and examine current trends contributing to increased overdose rates. The course emphasizes recognizing the signs and symptoms of opioid overdose, implementing timely and appropriate responses, and educating clients on risk reduction strategies. Participants will also learn how to effectively utilize Naloxone as a life-saving intervention and how to incorporate overdose prevention education into clinical practice.
